Patna: BJP has decided to compete 13 of the 24 chairs of the Legislative Council of State from the quota of Pancayati Raj and the urban local city won in 2015, leaving 11 left for three other NDA allies – JD (U), Hindustan lay Morcha (secular) led by Used CM Jitan Ram Manjhi and Vikashsheel Insa Party (VIP) led by Minister Mukesh Sahani.
The BJP decision was supported by the Core Committee of the State Unit at the meeting here on Saturday.
The Committee was formed with the approval of President BJP J P Nadda.
“BJP will contest 13 of the 24 seats the last legislative council that was won in 2015.
The remaining 11 seats have been abandoned for our NDA allies.
We decided not to let go of any chair won by the party,” said BJP spokesman Prem Ranjan Patel.
“We will expand assistance to our allies in the chair they will contest.
Party leadership will also help them in resolving controversial problems planted between them,” Patel said.
As with the position of the party on 24 seats whose term ends last year, BJP has won 13, followed by eight by JD (U), two by RJD and one by Congress.
The Grand Alliance consisting of RJD, Congress and three left parties – CPI (ML), CPI and CPM – have not completed the division of seats between them.
Although there are no registered States ministers who can participate in the core committee meeting, those who take part include BJP State President Dr.
Sanjay Kumar Jaiswal, Deputy CMS Tarkishore Prasad and Renu Devi, Sushil Kishore Yadav, Samrat Chaudhary, Samrat, Nawal Kishore Yadav, Janak Ram , Shahnawaz Hussain and Secretary General of State (Organization) Bhikhu Bhai Dalsania.
Among the problems they poured included tense relationships in NDA, reviewing the government’s performance, the controversy surrounding the law and harsh war among allies, in addition to repeated incidents of the Hooch tragedy caused by them.
