Patna: The Valmiki Tiger Reserve (VTR) in the West Chamaran district is likely to host the state cabinet meeting around October.
During a virtual meeting with Minister of Chief, Nitish Kumar, on Wednesday, the Environment, Forest and Climate Change (EFCC), Neeraj Kumar Singh, expressed his desire to hold a cabinet meeting at VTR with the intention of promoting ecotourism.
“The EFCC department will also hold sightseeing sessions for members of cabinets and other government officials,” he said.
Immediately after the meeting, EFCC department officials began to pronounce plans for the Cabinet meeting proposed at VTR.
Then, Neeraj told this reporter, “The relevant officials have been asked to visit the area, check the condition of the guest house, making play zones, marking the parking slot, and identifying the Helipad site.” Meanwhile, 200 hectare land near VTR, which is under the irrigation department’s jurisdiction, has been identified to establish a green resort.
Neeraj said, “There is great potential to promote ecotourism in the state.
Therefore, we have planned to develop green belts along large rivers such as Ganga, Sone, Merges, and Kosi soon.” He added, “The EFCC department has also been Decided to use 20% of the income generated through ecotourism for tribal welfare in the region.
