Bihar CM conducted an air survey of the flood hit district

Patna: Head of Bihar Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday conducted a flood-affected area air survey in Bhagalpur Regency, Begusarai and Khagaria where Ganga had played havoc in many low-lying river villages.
After conducting a flood assessment through the air survey, CM also examined several flood assistance camps in the subdivision of Naugachia from Bhagalpur Regency and the Parbatta Blok from Khagaria Regency.
He also checked the kitchen of the community in Blok Matihani from the district of Begusarai.
Accompanied by senior officials, Nitish examined the flood assistance camps run at Bharatkhand High School in the Khagaria District Parbatta block and Ramdhari Inter-Level High School, Pakra, and High School, Meatpur, both at the Naugachia Sub-Division of Bhagalpur area.
While checking aid camp in Pakra, CM asked Bhagalpur DM Subrat Kumar Sen to increase the number of aid camps in his district.
“During the air survey, I saw that a large number of people had been influenced by floods in Bhagalpur Regency.
So, according to the requirements, increase the number of relief camps in the district so that the flood-affected people do not face difficulties of all types,” Nitish told Bhagalpur DM .
After returning to the state capital, Nitish said many areas had been influenced by flooding due to the increase in the surface of the Ganges river.
He said several aid camps had been opened in a flood-hit area.
“Some help camps were examined by me.
I also spoke to many people who lived in these assistance camps and issued instructions needed to relevant officials,” CM told reporters when they left Patna Airport.
CM also said that he had asked officials, especially district judges, to ensure the relief needed for all flood-affected families after conducting the right survey of flood-hit areas.
“Officials have been told that there should be no shortcomings in assistance or rescue,” he said.
Nitish also said that even though the water level in Ganga is now in a downward trend, the flood waters spread previously in villages have left a broad negative impact on the population.
People who face damage due to flood water, will be given assistance and assistance needed.
CM also said that even though the highest water level in Ganga this year was slightly lower than the highest water level in 2016, flood waters had caused damage such as 2016 in several places.
