Bihar: CM Starts’Mission 5.0 Plantation’

PATNA: Bihar government has chosen to plant over five crore saplings from the present fiscal year (2021-22) below the’Mission 5.0 Plantation’, having a goal to raise the country’s green cap to 17 percent in the present 15%.
CM Nitish Kumar on Saturday established the’Mission 5.0 Plantation’, a hard drive for putting five crore saplings at the nation in a calendar year, by planting some crochet sapling in his official home in 1, Anney Marg, on the occasion of World Environment Day.
Both chief secretaries into the CM, Deepak Kumar and Chanchal Kumar were present on the event.
“State’s environment, climate and forest change division (EFCCD) has given a goal of planting 5 crore saplings from the present FY beneath the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Abhiyan to generate awareness about environmental protection,” a press notice issued in the CM’s office stated.
Shortly after the CM established the’Mission 5.0 Plantation’, an official start of farm has been launched in most woods divisions throughout the state.
The rural development division (RDD) also started the farm drive in different places below the MGNREGS.
Likewise, the girls volunteers of Jeevika, different NGOs and also para-military forces began the farm driveway as a portion of their Mission 5.0 on the event of the world environment day.
To fulfill up with the need of saplings below the Mission 5.0 Plantation, the EFCCD has prepared over 5.5 crore saplings in its own different nurseries throughout the country.
Of complete 5.5 crore saplings, 1.24 crore saplings will be planted from the EFCCD under various departmental schemes.
“2 crore saplings are passed on to this RDD for farm beneath the MGNREGS, although the other 1.5 crore into Jeevika.
Approximately 15 lakh saplings is going to soon be offered to ordinary folks by the EFCCD.
The other 20 lakh saplings will be planted by various organizations such as the NGOs and also para-military forces,” the press note stated.
Bihar’s absolute green cap decreased to just 9 percent in 2000 as nearly all forest areas dropped in the recently carved Jharkhand following the bifurcation.
To improve the green cover, Nitish started’Hariyali Mission’ at 2012.
Bihar successfully improved its green cap to 15 percent by planting approximately 22 crore saplings because the launching of Hariyali Mission at 2012.
The state government has fixed a goal of raising its green cap to 17 percent of the complete location.
