Patna: Cm Nith Kumar on Saturday visited several villages facing a situation like a flood in Nalanda, Nawada and Patna.
He interacted with the villagers and issued instructions needed to officials to solve their problems.
The situation like a flood emerged because it overflowed from local rivers after heavy rains caused by cyclones in the last two days.
CM visited the village of Bikhochak Dariyapur under the Patna Regency Block, the embankment violated near Bind Village because of the overflow of Jirayeen and Kumhari River and Katrisarai in Nalanda besides Nardiganj Blocks in Nawada to review situations such as floods created by Panchane and Dhanarjay.
On the way back to Patna, he reviewed the rising trend of Panchane River by standing on the bridge Dihra in Blok Rahui Nalanda and asked DM Yogendra Singh to ensure the affected assistance.
“The necessary instructions have been issued for officials.
All the settings needed to help affected people will be made,” Nitish told the media.
Minister of Water Resources Sanjay Kumar Jha, Nalanda MP Kaushalendra Kumar, Secretary of WRD Sanjeev Hans, Commissioner of Patna Division Sanjay Kumar Agarwal besides Anupam Kumar, Regional Secretary of CM, accompanied by Nitish.
Meanwhile, vehicle traffic was closed on the NH-120 near the village of Kosuk and at the NH-110 near Devardarai in Nalnda on Saturday.
FloodWaters of Lokain River entered the Parwalpur and hundreds of houses.
Some Sohsarai regions were flooded with the overflowing Panchane River.
Pipapur, Jagannathpur, Jana, Kaila, Godwapar, Jhumta and Asthawan are affected by overflowing local rivers.
Lal Bahadur Paswan from Mafi Village near Soewa said the situation worsened after the embankment on the Jirayin River was violated between Jiyar Village and Kulti.
The villages in Darveshpura, Patoria and Barith Panchayats from Katrisarian Block were more affected following a violation in the embankment on the Sakri River in three places.
Nalanda DM said repair work was being carried out in a full swing under the supervision of Rajgir HR.
