PATNA: A day after RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav made it clear that his party will not share any seat with alliance partner Congress for 24 vacant seats Vidhan Parishad, a big old party was undecided although its leaders say they are ready to go solo.
“We have been preparing for all 24 seats to help the candidates Mahagathbandhan.
We are ready to contest all the seats, “said Congress legislative party leader Ajit Sharma on Sunday.
Sharma said the Congress state president Madan Mohan Jha, party Rajya Sabha MP Akhilesh Prasad Singh and he himself should discuss national issues with RJD president Lalu Prasad on instructions from top management.
“Ji Akhilesh has been called Then ji on Friday morning and the last to say since Tejashwi have come back (from abroad), he will discuss the formula of seat-sharing with him,” Sharma said, adding that later in the evening she heard the statement Tejashwi through media to contest all seats only.
Jha told mediapersons that the Congress has yet not received an official statement from the RJD on seat-sharing and whatever he heard was through the media.
Congress MLC Prem Chandra Mishra, however, expressed his anger over the way Tejashwi have behaved and RJD reminded of by-election results in two assembly seats.
In the same election, RJD has declared the candidate of the two Tarapur and Kusheshwar Asthan constituency without consulting with Congress and lost both seats to JD (U).
On the other hand, state RJD spokesman suggested Mritunjay Tiwari Congress to realize the truth, rather than daydreaming.
“Our leader has taken a decision and Congress should not weaken Mahagatbandhan,” said Tiwari, Congress blame for their defeat in the assembly byelections.
He said the seats were not as Satyanarain Puja ‘prasad’ to be distributed anyway for all.
