Patna: Drive Administration of Mass Medicines (MDA) will be conducted in 22 districts from September 20 to eradicate Filaria, Minister of Health Mangal Pandey said on Saturday.
People will be given anti-filandary drugs to prevent disease transmission.
Pandey said children under two years, pregnant women and people who suffer from serious illness will not be given drugs.
The district where the MDA program will be launched is Aria, Banka, Begusarai, Bhagalpur, Buxar, Champaran East, West, Gopalgad, Jehana, Mushrooms, Kathar, Khagaria, Madhepura, Muner, Sautamarhi, Sautamarhi, Siwan and Supaul.
He said Filariasis was below the list of serious diseases at the world level and India was one of the most affected countries.
In India, Bihar has the highest endemicity.
“The work related to consciousness is being carried out.
The task force will be consulted to make the program successful,” Pandey said.
Cases of people who avoid drug administration and lack of consciousness have been reported in filaria cases from all over the country.
According to a report published in the Medical Journal of the Indian Armed Forces, a single-dose mass administration every year in combination with other techniques has eliminated lymphatic filariasis from Japan, Taiwan, South Korea and the Solomon Islands and significantly reduces transmission in China.
Urgent people to take medicine, Pandey said many people who suffer from Filaria did not show symptoms at first.
Therefore, everyone must take medication for disease prevention.
He also asked people to ensure the prevention of mosquito breeding at home or their environment and use mosquito nets and keep the environment clean.
