Patna: A 40-year-old man, Mahendra Das, was arrested and sent to prison on Monday on charges of killing a goat in a drunken country in Kudwa Village under the Goh police station in Aurangabad Regency.
Police said the defendant was previously related to the Maoist group.
Das was arrested after his neighbor Shakuntala Devi accused him of killing his goat drunk on Sunday.
According to police complaints, Shakuntala goats were tied to an electric pole in front of his house.
Das, a habit drunk, holding a goat with his hand, causing a severe injury to his neck.
Goat then died.
When Shakuntala’s husband Sudama Sao tried to intervene, the defendant not only threw a violation of him but also tried to hurt him in full public view.
Aurangabad SP Kantesh Mishra said the watershed was captured under the parts of the relevant IPC and prevention of atrocities against the animal law, 1960.
He was also charged with violating the law of the ban.
Sho of Goh Police Station MD Shamim Ahmad said the previous DAS was involved in Maoist activities in the Aurangabad district.
“He also avoided the arrest in some cases of Maoist violence,” he said.
The goat’s body was handed over to the owner after posting Mortem at an animal hospital in Goh.
“The postmortem report is still awaited,” Sho said.
The source said if spoken guilty under the prevention of atrocities on the animal law, the 1960 defendants can be punished by the RS 100.
