Patna: Lok Jansakti Party (LJP) founded by former UNI Minister Ram Vilas Ramwan was officially split on Tuesday when the Election Commission (EC) reported separate names and poll symbols to the factions led by his son Chir-Pashupati Kumar Paras, who is also a United minister.
The Chirag Faction will be called the Lok Jansakti Party (RAM Vilas) with a ‘helicopter’ as a symbol of polls while the Paras group will be known as the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti party with ‘sewing machine’ as a symbol of polls to be allocated to candidates, if any, by their group in Lejaran for the seat of Assembly Asthan and Tarapur Kusheshwar, which will be held at Bihar on October 30.
EC, in a temporary order, has banned groups from using LJP as the name of their party and it was a poll symbol bungalow at Bypolls October 30.
However, the EC will take the final decision after hearing their side and inte the letters to be submitted to support their claim on November 5, the two groups praised the EC decision.
Chirag Faction spokesman MD Ashraf Ansari said the EC allocated the name and symbol of its files according to the request of the leader.
Ashraf said the Chirag will now store tabs on the development work carried out by the state government by floating in the sky in the helicopter, a party selection symbol.
State President of the Chirag Group, Raju Tiwari said, “Because the name and symbol have been allocated by EC, we are in the process of completing candidates for two assembly seats.” Paras also welcomed the EC command and said he was busy making preparations for the first anniversary of his older brother late Ram Vilas Paswan on Patna on October 8.
Paras has expressed his support for NDA candidates in elections.
“We are part of NDA,” he reaffirmed again.
In particular, five of the six LJP parliamentarians had rebelled against Chirag and chose Paras MP Hajipur as their leader at Lok Sabha.
Then, the Paras was appointed in the Cabinet Narendra Modi in July this year.
