Patna: With the intention of providing adequate infrastructure and other facilities, the State Education Department has directed the officials concerned to take stock of physical status in higher and secondary schools and make a database.
There were 9,361 higher and secondary schools in Bihar, where 2,948 secondary schools have been enhanced to secondary schools to recognize students from the 2020-21 academic session.
In this enhanced schools, surveys will be made to provide the facilities needed to ensure education to class XII.
Sanjay Kumar, Additional Principal (Education), said this survey would help the department identify these institutions that did not have the necessary infrastructure so as to plan according to improving and build additional classrooms to accommodate more students and other facilities such as libraries, laboratories , playground and toilet.
“Some schools have been enhanced from the middle to medium level and from secondary to higher secondary levels.
All of these institutions must be surveyed.
Depending on the availability of land and the condition of the existing building, the plan for repairs will be made.
We have reached the target of providing high school in All Panchayats in the state.
Now, it is very important that every secondary school in Panchayats has the necessary facilities, so students do not have to go to other villages or fall from school, “Sanjay said to this newspaper on Sunday.
He added: “The survey will be carried out at the end of this month.
Based on the report, the department will draw a plan to strengthen and renovate infrastructure.
We may not be able to update all schools in a year, but the details will help us do it.
Priority will be given to institutions These are lacking infrastructure.
“The Bihar Education Council has also asked District Education Officers (DEOS) to conduct surveys and collect information from government schools on various parameters, including student registration (September 30, 2020), infrastructure – number of buildings, status, Conditions, number of classrooms, expansion scope and construction year, and the availability of land among others.
