PATNA: Even with a decrease in Covid-19 instances in Bihar, the next wave has struck 5,331 railroad employees such as physicians, officials and frontline station duty employees working at various areas falling under the authority of East Central Railway (ECR). Regrettably, 102 railroad employees largely loco pilots, guards and channel specialists have succumbed to the lethal virus although the amount of railroad relatives that have died of their Covid disease stands in 114 taking the complete death toll on 227 from the ECR area. Based on ECR main public relations officer (CPRO) Rajesh Kumar, the worst hit would be frontline railroad employees including channel masters (SMs), loco hunters and guards that have tested positive for Covid-19. But they’re recovering quickly in house isolation while some are still fighting for survival in hospitals,” he said. As stated by the CPRO,”Pt Deen Dayal Upadhaya branch (DDU) of this ECR has highest number of 1,569 favorable cases from that 51 people have died which comprised 16 frontline railroad workers of this branch. Around 905 railroad workers have tested positive in Dhanbad branch out of that 33 deaths have happened such as that of 19 railroad workers.” Altogether 714 railroad employees, largely loco guards and pilots of their Samastipur branch have tested positive for Covid that moment, from which 21 expired which comprised 15 railroad workers of the branch. In Sonepur branch, 832 railroad workers have tested positive for Covid-19out of that 37 people have reacted to the virus such as 22 railroad employees. At Danapur branch, 702 railroad workers have tested positive for Covid -19 thus much out of that 74 people have perished which comprised 30 frontline railroad workers and a railroad doctor in the branch. But, senior divisional employees officer of Danapur Surjit Singh said totally 160 railroad workers are in present favorable while 671 workers have recovered up to now. “Moreover, 35 senior railway officials of this branch also have recovered from Covid-19 disease,” he explained. In the ECR headquarters at Hajipur, 809 railroad engineers and employees have tested positive. Entirely 11 deaths have happened in the relatives of their headquarters-based workers up to now, the CPRO explained ,”Complete 23,237 railroad workers of their ECR have experienced Covid-19 detection evaluation.”
