Patna: Gasoline and diesel have become more expensive by RS8.45 and Rs 8.30 per liter in October after increases with 33 and 36 Paise per liter, on Sundays.
This is the highest increase in a month since May last year.
Gasoline sold with a high of all time of Rs 113.31 / liter and diesel at Rs 104.91 / liter on Patna on Sunday.
According to the retail fuel executive station, the price of gasoline and diesel increased 24 days in October.
Vijay Kumar, the executive of the sale of fuel stations near Gandhi Maidan, said daily sales have fell 15-20% this month compared to September.
“Customers who used to get their full vehicle tank have reduced the amount of fuel,” he said.
The price of fuel that skyrocketed burned a hole in an ordinary pocket.
Mohan Kumar, taxi driver, said the taxi driving is no longer a favorable business because his income decreases while the cost of car care increases with the increase in fuel prices.
“Although it has increased a rate of Rs30 to 60 per trip, I still face losses.
Everything is more expensive and difficult to run the family,” he said.
Somesh Chatterjee of Lodipur Guessing fuel prices will be more than RS120 per liter.
“The government makes all the money while giving a burden on lay people,” he said.
“I have to think twice before taking my scooter.
I have avoided sightseeing with my friends after college.
I spent RS1,150 on gasoline in September and almost Rs1,500 in October,” Jyoti Sinha said, a student and population Anisabad colony.
Pankaj Kumar from Kadamkuan said he was now planning to get a bicycle because the maintenance of wheel vehicles was not possible.
“On Patna too, the gas station must stop sales like in Kolkata for 30 minutes to protest the increase in fuel prices,” he said.
Sudhanshu Kumar, an economist at the Center for Public Economic and Financial Policy, Patna, said the price of fuel has shown a trend of increasing due to the increase in crude oil prices.
“International prices are expected to remain high because of the increase in global demand.
In the short term, only the choice with the government is to reduce taxes to provide assistance to consumers.
This will also increase demand in the economy.
The fiscal deficit produced because lower taxes can be compensated by Government loans and disinvestment, “he said.
“Likewise, there is pressure on the price of LPG, which also increased in the last time.
Unlike gasoline and diesel, the price of LPG is still regulated and under-goveries or losses have increased and has a subsidized burden on the government.
Therefore, the tax policy needs to be calibrated Carefully to support demand in the economy, “Kumar said.
