Bihar Hospital increases Infra to face the 3rd wave

Patna: The state government has requested all medical colleges and government hospitals to improve the facilities for the treatment of children remembering the expected third wave of covid pandemic.
Minister of Health Mangal Pandey said the hospital had been asked to increase the number of beds in the pediatric ward, equipped it with an oxygen pipe and maintain important medical equipment ready for children’s care.
He said the Ministry of Health provided all the equipment needed for hospitals in addition to holding routine meetings with supervisors and principals from health institutions.
“Private hospitals and non-governmental organizations are also encouraged to make progress planning to save children from deadly viruses,” Minister said to this newspaper.
He appreciated the Mahavir Vatsalya Aspatal based in Patna to create a separate 90-bed children’s ward.
The Indira Gandhi Medical Institute (IGIM) almost completed his preparation for the future.
“We have booked one floor completely for the treatment of children if the third wave of Covid,” said Superintendent Ogams Dr.
Manish Mandal.
Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) is also busy increasing childcare facilities.
The hospital has begun setting up 60 new children’s beds.
Viruses tend to mutate for their own survival and after witnessing human suffering in the first and second waves, there is a strong chance of the third wave, “said PMCH Thakur supervisor.
The job when connecting 80 beds with oxygen pipes will likely be started, Dr.
Thakur said, Adding an emergency case, the hospital will arrange other facilities from its own resources.
The number of children’s beds in Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH) has increased from 84 to 124.
“Additional equipment such as infusion pumps, monitors and ventilators have been provided by the Ministry of Health , “said Dr.
Binod Kumar Kumar Singh.
Although the pipe oxygen is available in all beds, 99 oxygen concentrators are also ready at NMC.

“Ward has been made considering the third wave of Covid which is possible,” he said.
