Patna: The three unknown criminals were shot dead by a 46-year-old lawyer near the village of Sasamusa Pokharbhinda under the Kuchaykot police station in the Gopalganj district on Tuesday.
The deceased, Rajesh Pandey, belonged to Kuchaikote Bazaar and was on our way to a court with a colleague.
The incident took place around 10:45 a.m.
when Pandey drove a bubun with a bicycle with colleagues, Jitendra Choubey, on the way to Gopalganj Civil Court where both practiced the law.
Choubey managed to escape without stopping in the incident as a criminal targeting Pandey.
Crime place is about 6 km from the residence of Pandey and about 15 km from the Gopalganj civil court.
Professional shooters are involved in evil.
One of them uses a 9mm gun, said Sdpo Sanjeev Kumar.
“The lawyer was shot three times.
He rushed to the hospital but the doctor could not save him,” he said.
“They first shot him from behind and aside while moving.
One 9mm empty cartridge and two of 7.65mm recovered from the place,” he said.
Choubey can’t say anything but criminals don’t cover their faces.
SP Anand Kumar said it was unclear why Pandey was killed.
“The police are investigating cases from several possible angles.
Family members and people close to him cannot say anything,” he said.
SP said Pandey used to go to court with Choubey for the past few months.
Immediately after news about the murder reached a civil court, lawyers abstained from routine law works, paralyzing the court process.
Public Prosecutor Gopalganj Deo Vansh Giri said SDPO approached them and convinced to solve cases within eight to ten hours.
