Bihar: Lima Sinks in Siwan, Arwal

Patna: At least five people, including four children, sank in a separate incident in Siwan and Arwal districts during the JITIYA festival on Wednesday.
One Surjota Devi (45) and Sumit Kumar (10) sank in the pool in Dumra Village under the Jamo Police Station area in Siwan.
Sho of Jamo Police Station Dhruv Prasad Singh said both were pulled out of the water body by the villagers and rushed to a conscious hospital where they died.
Sho said the bodies were both submitted to their family members after postmortem.
“The victims had gone to the pool to take a shower on Jitiya’s occasion,” he added.
Sho said family members from women and children who had died had not submitted a written statement.
In Arwal, three children drowned in a separate incident on Wednesday night.
In the first two incidents, Chandan Kumar aka Kundan (11) and Amit Kumar (9) sank on the Sone in the village of Muradpur Hujra and Janakpur in Arwal Kota.
The police said the children went to the river with family members for Jitiya and played in the water when the incident occurred.
In the third incident, one Akash Kumar (11) Agnoor Village under the area of ​​the police station in Arwal sank in the water body.
Police said the Akash family member flowed to the conscious hospital, but he could not survive.
