Patna: The country on Friday reported the highest one-day surge of 6,541 new cases during the third wave of covid pandemic.
According to the health department bulletin, Patna continued to be the center of the earthquake with 2,116 cases reported in the last 24 hours, followed by 427 in Muzaffarpur, 298 in Munger, 258 in Begusarai, 229 in Samastipur, among others.
Death tolls reported by the Ministry of Health rose to 12,123 after two more people surrendered to the disease in the last 24 hours.
In addition, three Covid deaths were reported by AIIMS-Patna on Friday.
All of them came from Patna – a 68-year-old man and a 54-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman.
Overall 70 Covid patients were still undergoing treatment at AIIMS-Patna.
Prominent among those infected including the Union minister and MP Begusarai Giriraj Singh.
