Style: The Excise Ministry team captures 11 Kuiran marijuana worth around Rs 2 Crore and catches one person while checking the vehicle in Dobhi checking posts on Monday.
Prem Premue Commissioner’s excise assistant said marijuana, packed in an iron box, was taken from Cuttack to Haryana in a container.
The container was stopped at the checkpoint.
One Kumar Harish Parwatiya Colony under the police station advice in Faridabad District Haryana was arrested.
Some villagers have conducted Poppy farms in Bombebazar and Barokatti blocks from the district.
Thanks to the efforts of the style of DM Abhishek Singh, Lemongrass farming has become popular in the area.
In, Bankebazar Agriculture Lemongrass is being carried out in 20 hectares of land by a Swadaya group.
The Ministry of Forestry has also destroyed Poppy plants in the Barachatti area on several occasions and encouraged locals to go for lemongrass farming.
Meanwhile, narcotics smuggling through GT Road continues.
On Saturday, one Gaurav Kumar from Kavinagar under the Ghaziabad Uttar Pradesh police station was arrested with Mariyuana 164kg worth Rs 20 Lakh.
