Patna / Bagaha: A 36-year-old woman sank while four people, including two children, disappeared when their tractor ships were upside down on the river nearby Bhagwanpur on the border of the Gopalganj district and West Chamaran on Wednesday.
Rajani Devi’s body from Yadavpur in Gopalganj was provoked.
The incident occurred around 10 in the morning when 14 workers, including four women and two children, went to the western part of Bhagawanpur.
Suddenly, someone started a tractor engine in the middle to hear songs from stereo and the boat fell into the river along with a trolley, the source said.
Champaran West DM Kundan Kumar told this newspaper that 14 people were on board.
Eight of them swam into safety and four were lost.
“Local divers issued the bodies of Rajni and Renu Devi.
Both were treated in a conscious hospital in Gopalganj where Rajni died during treatment.
The Tim SDRF and local divers conducted search and rescue operations.
All 14 are from the Gopalganj and Bettiah regions and are involved in agricultural activities, “He said.
Kumar, along with SP Bettiah Upendranath Verma, Sdpo Bettiah hit Primal Pande, SDPO Gopalganj Sanjiv Kumar and SDO UpDendra PAL reached the place.
“The NDRF team has also been pressed into service,” said Bhagawanpur Pancayat Mukhiya Kanaihiya Yadav.
Upendra told the Toi that among those who were lost were the owner of the Indrajit Prasad tractor from Khematihaniya under the Vishambharpur police station area.
“A 14-year-old girl, Punita Kumari, Nandlal Yadav’s daughter of Bhawanpur, Saroj Kumari (12), Satya Narayan Yadav’s daughter, and the 60-year-old Uma Devi from Barapati also disappeared,” he said.
