Patna: Bihar government employees and States people will take an appointment on November 26 that they will not consume liquor, Minister Nith Kumar’s head announced on Monday.
Speaking to reporters, Kumar said the ban was strictly enforced in the state and direction had been issued not to regret anyone, including government employees.
RJD opposition has criticized the state government, allegating that the police harassed countries by robbing the marriage on behalf of the ban.
“All law enforcement agencies have been instructed to ensure the implementation of the proper ban on liquor across the state.
Strict action will be taken against violators, including government officials,” Kumar said.
All government employees and the state community will take an appointment on November 26 on the occasion of the ‘ban day’ that they will not consume liquor or let their sales, he said.
Justifying the raid on marriage, Kumar said the police acted on the complaints he received.
“The police received a complaint that liquor was served on several marriages.
When the police get input like that, they took action.
Those who were not involved did not need to worry at all,” he said.
Police Patna raided more than 60 hotels and wedding rooms for the past few days and arrested several people with charges of consuming and giving liquor, officials said.
Hitting at Kumar for the raid, former head of the head of Rabri Devi said the state police harassed people with a pretty exhaustion.
He tweeted videos intended from one such attack, where the police can be seen entering the bridal room without the presence of a female police personnel.
The video triggered a counter-attack with opposition parties slamming the police to “insult and harass” innocent people.
Opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav accused Kumar and his ministers involved in trading in liquor in the state.
