Patna: The murder of an eight-year-old girl, whose body that was mutilated was recovered with her eyes out of the Safiabad police station area in the Munger district last Friday, turned out to be a case of human sacrifice.
The Special Investigation Team (Sitting) formed by Munger SP J J Reddy on Monday arrested four people, including a witch (tantrik), on charges of killing a little girl and committing a ritual to avoid the miscarriage of pregnant women.
SP said one Dilip Kumar, a resident of Padham Village under the Naya Ramnagar police station in the district, suggested by a magician, alam parvez, to sacrifice a girl to avoid a miscarriage of pregnant women.
“The diliped wife was conceived after a lot of pregnancy that was unsuccessful.
Therefore, she acted on the advice of the tantrik from the adjacent Khagaria district, which caused the terrible murder of the little girl,” SP said.
During the investigation, it was revealed that Tantrik had suggested that pregnant women must wear a talisman sanctified with blood and bloody virgin blood circles consulting with co-residents, natural tanners.

Previously, the police had registered a murder case and suspected rape because the injury was found in the private part of the girl.
SP said this case would be registered for a quick trial because all the defendants had been arrested.
“The instructions have been issued to submit a chargesheet in this case earlier,” he added.
