PATNA: Monsoon rain, followed by thunderstorm and lightning, lashed most regions of the country on Sunday as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted continuation of occasional showers at Bihar at least until the following 48 hours.
Moderate rain occurred in all places and heavy rain at a couple of areas in south-west and north areas of the country in the past 24 hours.
The IMD, at its everyday bulletin, issued orange awake for downpour in areas such as Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Madhepura and Purnia on Monday.
Even a Patna Meteorological Centre official stated Bihar obtained 176% surplus rain in the past twenty days.
“While the rain for the time is 86.9mm, then the real rain was 239.6mm.
Patna has obtained 984 percent more rain in the previous 24 hours.
Against its usual average of 3.2millimeter rain in this period of time, the district also has obtained 34.7millimeter rain,” said Sanjay Kumar, also a weather scientist in Patna MeT office.
He said the country would stay under the spell of monsoon rain until June 22 and sunny times for brief durations together with rain are anticipated.
“The rain intensity will decline from following week.
Scattered showers with thunderstorms will continue throughout the eastern Gangetic plains for many days.
The night and day temperature, though, will observe no large-scale alter during the upcoming few days,” Kumar explained.
Chief quantity of rain has been recorded in northern sections of Katihar (15cm), Siwan (14cm), respectively Gogri and Munger (13cm per ), respectively Kursela (11cm) and Kahalgaon, Kadwa and Chhapra (10cm per ) at the past twenty days.
In 144mm, Begusarai seen maximum rainfall in the country in the past 24 hours, followed closely by Chhapra (96.2mm), Bhagalpur (74mm), Khagaria (69mm) and Buxar (52.5mm).
Patna obtained 34.7millimeter rain on Sunday.
The town’s maximum temperature has been 29.2 degrees Celsius, approximately seven notches under normal.
