Patna: Police Samastipur has begun to investigate moving and non-moving properties collected by two interstate marijuana smugglers after confiscation of RS 39.66 lakh cash from their residence.
The police tend to approach the enforcement directorate for the seizure of the traits of two brothers under the prevention of money laundering laws (PMLA).
The two brothers and sisters – Arvind Mahto and Devendra Mahto – have run since Sunday when the police raided their homes in Sudamapur in Samastipur and recover cash and 35kg of marijuana.
Samastipur SP Manavjit Singh Dhillon said they had to know about four bank accounts from the two brothers.
“The police are in the process of writing to the Bank’s authority to freeze these accounts,” he said, adding to the two brothers may have a link with suppliers of marijuana from Northeastern States.
Rosera Sdpo Shahriyar Akhtar said the house of two brothers was built on the plot of seven Kattha.
“The house is so big that everyone, including their wives and children, escaped from the backdoor when the police arrived there,” he said.
