Bettiah: A man was killed by tigers near Sewar-Barwa Village, only 1 km from Valmiki Valmiki Reserve (VTR) forest in the West Chamaran district on Friday.
“The incident occurred in Chiutaha VTR range,” said Field Director Vtr Kant Roy.
Roy said the preliminary report was talking about the tiger on the cover of sugar cane fields near the village when the victim, Banka Manjhi (28), had explored close to harvesting his grass cattle.
“Our team has reached that place,” he said.
Meanwhile, Naseem Akhtar, former Mukhiya Panchayat Gudgudi where the village of the deceased was located, said the tiger apparently roamed close to the village.
“Only two days ago, the tiger had killed a goat belonging to one Birbali Manjhi around him,” he said.
