Patna: The state government on Wednesday removed SPS Aurangabad and Bhojpur and half a dozen other officers because of their alleged Nexus with Sand Mafia in their respective regions.
Actions have been taken on the State Police Violation Unit Report (Eou) after conducting an investigation of illegal sand mining in the Sone on Patna, Bhojpur, advice, Aurangabad, Arwal and Rohta.
Aurangabad SP Sudheer Kumar Porika and Bhojpur SP Rakesh Kumar Dubey has been attached to the police headquarters while Bhojpur Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) Vinod Kumar has been suspended.
Aurangabad District Transport Officer (DTO) Anil Kumar Sinha, which also has an additional cost of Rohas DTO, Patna DTO Purushottam, MVI Mrityunjay Kumar Singh style, Patna MVI Kumar Vivek and SDO Dehri in Rohtas, Sunil Kumar Singh, has been attached to the Department headquarters each on Patna.
Apart from the Vinod suspension, there is no special reason mentioned to eliminate other officials, including two sp.
Porika was an IPS Batch 2010 officer while Dubey was promoted to IPS cadres from the State Police Service.
The department’s home sources said the investigation was made after nodding from CM Nith Kumar.
The source said the EOO report has been placed before CM and the nod is awaited to start legal action against officers and others.
“Detailed report on all these officers, including to SPS, before CM to find directions for further action against them,” said an Eou senior official.
The main secretary of the Ministry of Mining Harajot Kaur Bamhrah has marked the problem of rampant illegal sand mining.
In his letter to the DGP SWhal SK on May 17, he mentioned that illegal mining, storage and sand transportation were not possible in six districts without the relations of the police personnel concerned.
He has asked DGP to take strict action in this matter.
Sand mining is prohibited May 1.
But illegal sand mining videos and transportation continues to circulate on social media that show police personnel receive money from truck drivers carrying sand in Bhojpur and other districts.
A senior bureaucrat said the transaction worth some crores in a bank account from the officer concerned was under the Eou scanner.
He said some Sandpos, Circle Inspectors, Sho, Mining Inspector, DTOS, MVIS and SDO were on the fire line based on EOO reports.
Ten police officers were transferred recently after contrary to sand and transportation mining under their respective jurisdictions.
