Patna / Madhepura: Three criminals who fled after looting gold jewelry from a shop captured by villagers and beaten in Pratappur Village under the Majhagarh Police Station area in Gopalganj District on Tuesday.
The police reached the place and saved criminals from the grip of the villagers.
They were then received at the conscious hospital in Gopalganj.
Criminals were identified as Noorhasan Mian, Pappu Mian and Guddu Singh.
Drunk Dy Mukhiya was held: Upendra Yadav, Deputy Mukhiya, who was just elected in Raipur Pancayat in Jatui, was arrested by the police drunk.
He has vowed not to drink liquor after winning the election.
Acting on a tip-off, the police raided Yadav’s house in Bhaud Village and found him drinking liquor at a party.
Two shots in Madhepura: Two people were injured in a shootout above the land dispute in Bhatrandha Village under Parman and police in the Madhepura district on Tuesday.
The victims were identified as Dashrath Sharma (48) and FKU Sharma (44).
Incharge from Parmanand Police Outpost Vijay Kumar said the shot occurred after a dispute between Sharma and two people – Laltun Kumar said Bablooo Yadav – for the logging of trees on their land.
