PATNA: The nation’s first-of-its-kind transgender refuge home-cum-skill training center has started working at Khagaul in western Patna together with five criminals.
Setup under the’Garima Greh’ strategy of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, the aim of establishing this type of shelter home would be to incorporate transgender individuals to the mainstream.
The three-storey construction would provide infrastructural assistance to 25 transgender individuals at one time and create them self reliant by enabling with skill training programs that might open a selection of professions that they could select for their own livelihoods.
Another art training block was constructed to offer soft skills.
Dostana Safar, a societal firm working for the welfare of transgender individuals, is still conducting this protector home, being tracked by the district government.
The center was termed as’Garima Griha’.
Reshma Prasad, the convener of this organisation, stated 11 trangenders, such as eight trans-women, have already been identified and a few of these have shifted there.

We’ll create them self-reliant to make their livelihood rather than begging,” she said on Sunday.
The coaches are imparting skills like make-up, yoga and dancing.
