Patna: Traders and locals protested and disrupted traffic for more than 2 hours on Wednesday against the murder of Jeweler Mantu Kumar Gupta (40) at Bihta in West Patna on Tuesday night.

Traders at Pasar Bihta also lowered their window leaves to protest the murder and occurrence of crime and other extortion.
They suspected that Gupta was killed because of his rejection to pay extortion demanded by criminals.
Gupta was shot dead in his jewelry shop when he prepared to close it for that day.
The Jewelry Shop Maa Vindhyasini is located in Bihta Market.
Half a dozen armed criminals on three bikes fell inside his shop and shot him on the head and chest, kill him in place.
About 50 jewelry stores are located around it.
Bihar BJP Spokesman Nikhil Anand also raised his voice for the crime incident at Bihta.

Biht-based traders, preferring anonymity, saying the demands of extortion are routines in Bihta and the police cannot control them.
