Pop sense Billie Eilish has tendered an apology following videos appeared on societal websites in which the singer has been seen an anti-Asian opinion.
Last weekan edited compilation of many movies premiered on TikTok, seeming to demonstrate that the singer mouthing a Asian racial slur employed in Tyler that the Creator’s 2011 tune’Fish’ and copying a variety of accents.
After Eilish confronted backlash on social networking, she published an announcement Instagram and addressed the controversy.
“I adore you guys, and several of you’ve been asking me to deal with this.
This is something I wish to address since I am being branded something that I’m not,” that the 19-year-old singer stated.
“There is a movie edit heading all of me once I was 13 or 14 at which I mouthed a phrase out of a tune that in the time I did not understand was a derogatory word used from members of the Asian area.
I’m ashamed and humiliated and would like to barf I mouthed along to this sentence,” she added.
Eilish clarified that out of this trail, the slur has been”never used” by anyone or her from her loved ones.
“Despite my ignorance and age in the moment, no matter the simple fact is it was hurtful.
And so for that I’m sorry,” she added.
Eilish additionally addressed the remainder of the clip where she’s seen mocking Black and Asian accents.

something I started performing as a child and’ve done my entire life when speaking about my own pets, friends, and loved ones.
“It’s complete gibberish and I goofing about, and is by no means an imitation of anybody or any speech, culture or accent whatsoever,” she explained.
Nevertheless, Eilish stated she never wished to”cause harm” to anybody with her”activities”.
“It breaks my heart that it’s being tagged currently in a means which may lead to annoyance to people hearing ,” she added.
