Hyderabad: Biological E has registered with the World Health Organization (WHO) for EUL (list of emergency use) of the corbevax recombinous protein sub-unit vaccine.
The company expects to start vaccine supplies to the Indian government immediately, Biological E MD Mahima Datla told TI during exclusive interactions.

“This 25 dose of crore, 65 million has been removed by the CDL (Central Medicines Laboratory), Kasauli, and 120 million other doses are waiting for release, while the remaining doses are produced in the process of submitting to the CDL,” he said.
The company has increased the annual capacity of the dose to100 crore (1 billion) for Corbevax and can even increase up to 1.2 billion doses every year.
“We can increase it to 2 billion doses (if necessary),” he explained.
Datla refused to reveal the price of Corbevax.
“In line with our goal of being the most affordable vaccine, it will be lower than RS150 per dose for government inventory.” “We will save ex-checkers at least Rs1,500 Crore on our own order if we compare it to the price of others.
But I hand it over to the government’s policy to reveal the price,” he said.
However, in the private market the company will choose a differential price determination strategy.
“We don’t want to be wasteful in the private market and want to make sure it can be accessed even there.
We are still working on private market price logistics but I can tell you that it will be very reasonable,” he said.
