Biodiversity Park To Expand Green Cover in the heart of Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad: To expand the green cover of the city, the biodiversity park will be developed at almost 28 hectares of land opposite the Mahamaya Stadium in the heart of Ghaziabad.
The stone foundation from this project was placed by the Development Minister Urban Up Ashutosh Tandon on Wednesday.
He was in town to formalize and put the foundation stone from several projects worth RS 94 Crore.
The GMC Horticulture Department will develop a biodiversity park at a cost of Rs 12 Crore, officials said.
“Working in the park will begin soon.
According to the plan, the park will act as Ghaziabad’s green lungs, which from the end which has been late has achieved fame into the country’s most pollution city,” said an GMC official.
The park will boast a pool opposite the 2.5 hectare area, apart from Mawar Park, Uyan medicine, knowledge park, Vasant Vatika, Navgraha Vatika, Sharad Vatika and Bal Vatika.
“Usually in public parks, ornamental plants or shrubs are planted.
But in the garden proposed, we will have enough scope to plant large trees containing fruit and will also have a children’s playground,” the official said.
Apart from this, the GMC Horticulture Department will do work to change 251 parks and develop 198 throughout the city, he added.
Stone Foundation of a total of 53 projects worth Rs 44.46 Crore are also placed by the minister.
“The projects that will be carried out by the GMC construction department include disposal work, road construction and laying of interrelated tiles.
There are deadlines for the project and all jobs will be carried out before December,” he added.
Under the Department of GMC water work, four projects worth RS 6 Crore have been identified, which includes installing a rainwater harvesting system in 100 GMC parks and places a gutter line in various parts of the city.
The projects under the health department worth RS 13.40 Crore will also be conducted, which includes the procurement of 50 e-rickshaws for door garbage collection and work related to solid waste management.
