10 years with cancer in the eye cannot obtain free maintenance because the name is not on the BPL card because biometric is not registered
Biometric has changed life problems or death for Alaiyana Khanum aged 10 years.
The child is a cancer patient, but his family cannot afford to continue treatment for him.
For months, the family has tried to get Alaiyana’s name on the poverty line card below, but the biometrics will not be recognized.
They did not know that it happened because the cancer was in his right eye.
His father Akhmal Khan, a mechanic, told the bangalore mirror they managed to start treatment with loan money, but would not be able to continue.
“We went to the food office and civil supply several times to enter his name on the BPL card but they directed us to get recognition from Bangalore where they tried to take his biometrics but were not registered.
It has been going on for a year but we don’t know the reason behind him Recently diagnosed with cancer, “he said.

The doctor told the Alaiyana family to have retinoblastoma and must immediately undergo chemotherapy.
“They have asked us not to delay care but we don’t have enough money to continue.
He can get free care from the government scheme but his name must be on the BPL card,” he said.
Little Alaiyana wants to be a software engineer when she grows.
Her mother Arshiya Khanum said Alaiyana had a problem with her vision, but she never revealed it or even knew it.
“In May his cousin bought new reading glasses and my daughter tried it.
He told us the vision was clearer with glasses,” he said.
They took him to the eye clinic where the doctor told them his retain was completely damaged.
They were asked to take him to Indian Children’s Hospital Gandhi.
There, the family came to know the devastating news.
.
“The doctors asked us to take him to a larger hospital for chemotherapy.
Because Covid, we were very fond of financially and we have stopped the study for both children.
We struggle to regulate money to complete scanning and tests.
Chemotherapy will cost RS.
50,000 per session that we can’t buy.
Doctors tell us that cancer is close to the brain so that we may not delay.
They say even after surgery, chemotherapy is a must, “he said.
We don’t have enough money.
He can get treatment for free from the government scheme but his name must be on the BPL-Akhmal Khan card, Alaiyana Khanum’s father
The family approached several hospitals and received the first Kemo session in June in a private hospital for free.
Arshiya said that for the second session in July, they borrowed money from several people.
“We sell our gold and buy injections and drugs for Rs.
35,000 and in July, he was accepted for two days so we started with crowdfunding to pay the bill.
We managed to get chemotherapy in July and August but we could not do that Next month.
We need to add the name to another BPL card, it is impossible to continue the session, “he said.
An official from Rajajinagar food and the office of the civil supply to BM they can only add names by recognition from Bangalore One.
But a Bangalore worker in Padarayanapura said it was not accessible to them and they could not help.
Anil Kumar BH, additional secretaries of government heads (food, civil inventory and the Ministry of Consumer Affairs) have words of hope for the family.
“Biometric is not needed to add names to existing BPL cards.
I will see the problem and overcome it,” he said.
