Ahmedabad: ‘racing bird’ is held on Sundays seeing 356 unique species of birds in one day.
This represents around 50% of the total biodiversity biodiversity in the state.
The red breasted geese was seen only for the second time in the state, at Lake Thol on the outskirts of the city.
Red-breasted geese, citizens of Arctic Siberia, were seen for the first time in Gujarat in January 2021 in Nalsarovar.
This year there are also reports in Nalsarovar but later they are lost.

Uday Vora, former Head of Forest Conservator and Gujarat Bird Conservation Society Members, said that the main number of unique species, 174, was recorded in the coastal belt of the Mahuva and Rajula.
Vora said Nalsarovar, Tholl and Vadla recorded 160 strange species.
Of these, some species are commonplace on the three main lakes of the Ahmedabad district.
He said 356 of these species were recorded at 235 sites in the state, including village pools or emergency pools where rainwater piled up.
The appearance of 356 species represents around 50% of the total diversity of birds in the state.
He said the bird race was only a business one day and even with limited staff they managed to cover the entire state.
The aim is to explore the largest number and teams sent to places relatively less familiar to them.
“Bird Bird 2022, Gujarat, is probably his first event in this country.
Bharat Jethwa, an ornithologist who is part of the organizing committee saying that with the success of the bird race, the organizers have received offers from bird observers in Odisha, Assam and Madhya Pradesh , to hold a similar event there.
Other organizers said the number must also be taken, and several days must be added to the event so that the actual number of birds in the state can be mapped, indicating that the Gujarat Forest Department took it.
