Gurugram: The gate of the Sultanpur National Park will be discarded for today’s visitors for the first time in more than 19 months.
The park was closed on March 18 last year, a week before the national locking because of Covid-19, and remained closed since then.
Visitors will be permitted in the park starting at 7:30 a.m.
to 4:30 p.m.
and must comply with the suitable behavior for Covid in the park.
Sultanpur National Park was appointed as the Ramsar site, an important international wetland, in May this year.
The government has emerged with new rules to prevent crowding inside and outside the park.
Only 20 people or less will be allowed in a place within three hours, said a wildlife official.
Meanwhile, only those who are without covid symptoms and wearing masks will be allowed to enter the park after they mark themselves safely on the Aarogya Setu application.
ML MALLIK, wildlife conservator, South Haryana, said, “The park will open from tomorrow (November 1) for the public.
Migration birds have started visiting the park, so it is the ideal time for the park to reopen.” The park will be closed on Tuesday.
In pre-covid, the park was used to remain closed from June 1 to September 30 and reopened on October 1, registering 8,000-10,000 feet over the weekend.
One of the most popular tourist attractions of Gurugram, the park has nearly 6,000 birds, including at least 30 species of water birds, according to the Ministry of Wildlife.
Park visitors can find the general COOT, North Pintail, PintoBai POCHARD, General Pochard, North Shoveller, Gadwall, Glossy Ibis, Demoiselle Crane, Darter, Darter Painted, Cormorant, Sarus Crane, Woolbill-Neckeded Stork, Spoonfbill, Crested Serpent Eagle, Boot Eagle , Short-eared owls, Brown Hawk-Owl, Egret cattle, Heron, Swamphen, among others.
In winter, a large number of birds fly millions of miles to reach wetlands to rest and feed, park the park staff.
Migratory birds that are often categorized by gardens are widely as waders, birds depend on shallow water; Sing the warbler and duck.
Sultanpur Wetland supports more than 220 resident species, winter migration and local migration waters at the critical stage of their life cycle, said a birder.
More than ten migration birds are threatened globally.
This includes lapwing endangered socesses.
Birders welcome the decision to reopen the site but suggest carefully.
“The surveillance of people entering the park is important because birds should not be disturbed due to human disorders,” Pankaj Gupta said, a birdder with the Delhi bird community.
In June of this year, the circular area around Sultanpur National Park, ranging from garden boundaries and reaching up to five kilometers, it was declared an environmental sensitive zone by the forest department and country wildlife.
Zonal master plan for this field is notified on June 18 and under plans, no construction will be permitted in 300 meters of park.
