Kottayam: Kerala Police on Monday registered a case against Catholic Bishop Joseph Kallaragatt based on complaints that the priest through the comments of “Love and Narcotics Jihad”, committed a violation to promote feelings of hatred between religious groups.
The court in Pala gave directions while considering the request submitted by a leader of all Indian Imam Councils.
The petition who tried to register a case against the bishop was submitted by Abdul Aziz Maulavi, Head of the Council of Kottayam.
Bishop, on a function on September 9, said Christian girls fell prey “love and jihad narcotics” in Kerala and wherever the arm cannot be used, extremists use such methods to destroy the country’s youth.
