New Delhi: World Youth Bronze-Medalist Bishwamitra Chongtham (51kg) claimed a gold medal in the Asian Youth Boxing Championship in Dubai on Monday because Indian boxers continued their dominant run at the event.
Chongtham beat Uzbekistan Kuziboev Ahmadjon 4-1, updating a rigid challenge.
However, Vishvanath Suresh (48kg) was signed with silver after losing 0-5 to rule the world champion of the Youth of Sanzar Tashkenbay from Kazakhstan.
Previously in junior competition, Indian girls trapped half a dozen gold medals because the country ended with eight gold, five silver and six bronze.
Of the 10 girls in the final, six ended with a gold medal, while the other four claimed their respective silver.
Among boys, three were in the final and two of them signed with a gold medal.
The gold medal count in India is the same as the traditional Kazakhstan Powerhouse and only one less than other heavyweight Uzbekistan.
Rohit Chamoli (48kg) and Bharat Joon (+ 81kg), Vishu Rathee (48kg Girls), and Tanu (Girls 52kg) were early gold medalists before others joined in after night on Sunday.
Nikita Chand (60kg), Mahi Raghav (63kg), Pranjal Yadav (75kg) and Kirti (+ 81kg) took their yellow metal in the fight later.
Kirti Won against Shugyla Rysebek from Kazakhstan in Split’s decision 4-1.
Raghav (63kg) also made a 3-2 separate decision against the Algerim Kabdolda from Kazakhstan.
Chand outperformed Assil Tanatar Kazakhstan, while Yadav defeated another Kazakh in Akzhan in a 4-1 decision to spill.
Rudrika (70kg) fell 1-4 against Uzbek Oysha Toirova and Sanjana (81kg) suffered a loss 0-5 against Umit Kazakhstan Abilkaiyr.
Aanchal Saini (57kg) also fell 0-5 against Ulzhan Sarsenbek Kazakhstan to end with a silver medal.
Six Indian bronze medals came after the Ghorpade Devika (50kg), Aarzoo (54kg) and Supriya treated (66kg) lost in the semi-final girl while Ashish (54kg), Anshul (57kg) and Ankush (66kg) out of the last boy -Four stage.
In the last Asian junior championship held in 2019 in Fujairah, UAE, India has been third with 21 medals (six gold, nine bronze and six bronze).
In the ongoing edition, the gold medalist in the Junior category was given with USD 4,000 while USD 2,000 and 1,000 were given to the winner of the silver and bronze medal.
Then on that day, Nivedi (48kg), Tamanna (50kg), Simran (52kg), Neha (54kg), Preeta (57kg), Preiya (60kg), Khushi (66kg), Khushi (75kg), Tanishbir (81kg) will Action in the Women’s Final Category.
Among men, jaydeep care (71kg), vanshaj (64kg) and vishal (80kg) will also fight in their final.
