Burdwan: The 30-year-old trader from Burrabazar was shot and then hacked in his village in East Burdwan.
Bullet injuries and sharp cuts were found on the body of Sabyasachi Mondal.
His father, Debkumar, had named his brother, brother-in-law and two of their sons in FIR and the alleged killer had been employed to eliminate Sabyasachi.
The police suspected that the property dispute caused the murder.
Sabyasachi, who operates a large hardware store in Burrabazar and lives in Shibpur, Howrah, has been going to his village, everypic in Raina (I) with friends of Rajbir Singh and Partha Sanra.
A driver, Ananda, who has been employed recently in the steering wheel.
They reached the house at around 3:30 a.m.
and decided to cook chicken for dinner.
Rajbir said they bought chicken and went to the first floor kitchen to cook.
Around 8pm, there was a knock on the door and Sabyasachi reportedly went to check.
Shortly, Rajbir and Partha heard gunshots and rushed to find Sabyasachi surrounded by four-five attackers.
Rajbir claims he tried to save him but was attacked.
Sabyasachi was taken to Burdwan Medical College by the driver around 9pm.
The police interrogated friends and drivers.
The source said there was inconsistency in the driver’s statement.
Sabyasachi’s father, who was in Shibpur, said Rajbir called him around 8:30 a.m.
and told him about the murder.
“My wife and I went to Burdwan but we were late.
Sabyasachi had long died,” he said.
Debkumar filed firs at the Raina Police Station on Saturday and named his brother and his family.
The police said the victim’s cousin had made a bomb at Shibpur’s house before and had even been arrested.
