Bhubaneswar / Cuttack: Jagatpur police in Cuttack arrested two people from Kolkata for allegedly deceiving an employer Rs 39 Lakh with the pretext of installing the Jio Mobile Tower on his land.
Allegations were identified as Anilesh Anand (23) and Ankit Roy (25).
The police were surprised to know that Anand and Roy along with their brother-in-law Abhay Tiwari had opened eight luxury offices in the Posh Salt Lake area and employed 250 employees to commit fraud to people.
The police said Tiwari was the mastermind of gang and had eight offices.
Tiwari had cooled his heels in Dum Dum Jail after his arrest by Kolkata police in the case of Cyber fraud last year.
Dilip Kumar Sahoo, a cuttack-based businessman, last month filed a complaint with Jagatpur police alleged that he was cheated by Rs 39 lakh by gang in December 2019.
The defendant was called Sahoo and posed as the Jio Nodal Officer.
Gang members offer a security deposit of Rs 20 Lakh for 20 years, RS 20,000 monthly rent for the cellular tower and work to family members with a monthly salary of Rs 15,000 to Sahoo.
