New Delhi: A 29-year-old businessman was arrested, along with his driver, for allegedly tried to squeeze Rs 40 Lakh from his former client, police said on Thursday.
Saurabh Aggarwal, the owner of a plastic factory, hatched a conspiracy with his driver Pokarmal Soran to extort money from his father’s former client, Pardeep Gupta, they said.
Soran poses itself as Sonu and demands Rs 40 Lakh from Gupta on behalf of Aggarwal and threatens to endanger himself and his family if the money is not paid.
This problem was reported by Gupta’s wife at the Sarai Rohilla police station in the North District on July 30, they said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Anto Alphonse said, “During the investigation, it appeared that Agrawal’s father had a business with victims of Gupta.
With the pretext of the difference in this business, holding in relation to the driver hatched a conspiracy of the number of Rs 40 Lakh from his former client Gupta.

“Soran, who has worked as a driver of Aggarwal for the past three years, regulates the state-made gun and calls two friends from his village in Rajasthan to execute plans.
On August 4, Soran, along with two of his friends Mahaveer (22) and Shiv Singh (28), threatened the gupta but his family immediately told the police.
Soran was arrested along with a gun while his friends managed to escape, according to the police.
In the example of Sonu, the team immediately carried out attacks and nabbed agrawal, mastermind, they added.
