With a poll that will be held at 853 Zilla Parishads in February, BJD has set a target to win 80% of the chair.
The election for Zilla Parishad’s chair in the Pancrayat Three poll will be fought for a party ticket.
The results of the Panchayat poll will set the tone for the 2024 general election, BJD plans to continue the momentum by winning most of the Zilla Parishad seats.
“All MLA from our party has been asked to ensure the BJD victory at 100% Zilla Parisad zone in the constituency of the respective assembly.
Performance in Panchayat polls will determine the future of MLA in the 2024 general election,” said a senior party official.
Leaders and observers from West and North Regency, where BJP has done well in the 2017 Panchayat elections, has been asked to ensure BJD victory in rural polls.
Likewise, leaders were also asked to take special care where the party captured the problem because of the nugility or group.
In Pancrayat 2017 polls, the selection was held at 846 Zilla Parishads.
BJD has won 473 seats to be the only biggest party while BJP finished second by securing 297 seats, increasing the calculation significantly.
Congress can win only 60 seats.
BJD leader Umangany said there would be no problem for the party to complete the candidate for the Zilla Parishad seat.
“We will manage well if there is no dissatisfaction among leaders.
BJD will create history in the upcoming Pancrayat poll,” Predicted Samandaray.
Party Insiders said leaders who had been charged with organizations from various districts held a meeting with MLA and senior district leaders to complete the ticket distribution.
As a nomination process for the selection of Panchayat it is likely to start from January 17, BJD is expected to release the first list of candidates in the next two days.
