Thane: A BJP activist at Navi Mumbai was attacked by sharp-eyed weapons in his office by two men, one of which was arrested in that place, police said on Monday.
Pradeep Tidar’s Senior Inspector from the Copar Police Station Khairne said the police had detained two people, including the man arrested at the crime, for attacks on BJP Sandeep Mhatre activists, who suffered minor injuries, at the end of the night of the night.
He said the incident occurred when Mhatre, as well as social workers and husbands from former BJP Corporator, working in his office in the area in Khairne.
Two people, armed with ‘helicopters’ (sharp-eyed weapons) and revolver, entered his office.
They dragged him out and the attacker brought a helicopter to attack BJP activists, the inspector said.
One of the attackers was arrested by people who were present at the BJP workers’ office and nearby and were sent off, making him hurt, he said.
His colleague was detained later, said Tidar.
Mhatre and his injured striker were hospitalized in Vashi, Navi Mumbai, he said.
The motive behind the attack is still unknown, police said, adding to the probe ongoing.
