Kolkata: Bharati Ghosh, BJP vice president and former IPS officer, on Sunday was appointed as a National BJP spokesman.
Ghosh, who has joined BJP in 2019 after his retirement, was appointed as Vice President of the State Unit in the same year.
“I will highlight all relevant problems in the state and in this country.
I will highlight the role of the party and leaders.
I will also highlight what Modiji does as a global leader of first grade,” Ghosh said.
Ghosh, a psychoanalytic theory student and marketing from Harvard University and a Chevening scholar at the London School of Economics, took training from the Bramshill Police Academy in England.
During his career, he was also posted at the United Nations for seven years.
“BJP is the highest national party in one of the biggest democracy.
We will focus on how the party works with people and for the people,” he said.
On Sunday the National President JJP J P Nadda announced his appointment together with Shehzad Poonawala as a national spokesman.
“The presence of Bengal on the BJP National Platform is always there.
But the increase in attendance shows that Bengal’s voice must now be heard at all levels.
We need to represent Bengal in a greater way,” he said.
Previously last year, Darjeeling MP Raju Bista was made a spokesman for the National Party.
