Guwahati: Assam BJP Unit on Saturday was proven by pages from history confirms Himanta’s main statement Buswa Sarma that Syama Prasad Mookerjee is a pioneer in promoting Assamese language in Calcutta University.
Denied the allegations of Congress that Mookerjee did not have a role in introducing Assam’s language at Calcutta University, CM political secretary, Jayanta Malla, in a press conference here said the famous scholars of Assam mentioned in the role of Mookerjee in this case.
Taking Jibe in Congress and other opposition parties, he pointed out the pleasure of ‘poor history knowledge’ from their leaders.
In 1935, he said, Assamese language was introduced as part of modern Indian (miles) for postgraduate study when Mookerji was VC from the University of Calcutta.
“From 1934-38, Shyama Prasad Mookerjee is a VC from the University of Calcutta.
Without a VC nod, can someone introduce a subject at a mile,” Qeried barracks.
However, BJP did not deny the proactive role of Mookerjee’s father Sir Ashuthush Mookerjee for his efforts.
“The process begins during the term of office of Ashutosh Mookerjee.
Leading scholars and academics such as Satyanath Bora and Birierchi Kumar Barak are involved in the study before opening the department but no one can reject the role of SYARA Prasad,” said Bandarah.
Quoting the book “Angkiya Naat” was written by Birierchi Kumar recently in 1940, he quoted the support of the author in that fact.
Birierchi Kumar recently taught at the Calcutta Assamse University department during the Mookerji term as VC.
“The University of Calcutta, through the efforts of the representative of Chancellor then Dr.
Syama Prasad Mookerjee has made Assam the main subject in the MA exam in modern Indian,” he said quoting from the book.
“Assam people thanked Dr.
Mookerjee for giving their MotherTongue, the highest academic status was possible by making it a problem of studying for the MA examination from the Calcutta University,” the book was mentioned.
President Raijor Dal Akhil Gogoi and Assam PCC President Ripun Bora has also attacked the main minister for allegedly distorting history after the latter praised the role of Mookerjee in promoting Assamese language.
Recently, on his side, it brave opposition leaders to prove the writings of famous scholars.
