Mangaluru / Udupi: BJP has pocketed the majority in Kaup Town Municipal Council (TMC) in Udupi and the City of Panchayats (TP) Kotekar and Vittal in Dakshina Kannada.BJP bagged the majority in Kotekar by winning in 11 of 17 wards.
In Vittal, BJP bagged 12 of the 18 wards and in Kaup, the party won 12 out of 23 seats.
In TP, BJP, Congress and SDPI kotekar maintained the calculation of their seats by winning each at 11, four and one ward.
Meanwhile, an independent candidate has pocketed one ward.
Prospective SDPI Selimabi Haseen Shameer has won from Paneer Ward with a narrow margin of three votes against the Safiya Congress candidate.
Prospective SDPI registered victory by bagging 229 against 226 votes.
In Vittal TP, while BJP bagged 12 wards, Congress won five wards and SDPI securing a ward.
In Kupk TMC, BJP pocketed 12 seats and Congress wins seven wards.
Meanwhile, SDPI succeeded in three wards and JD (s) bags.
BJP District President Udupi Kuyilady Suresh said that the party would give more emphasis on drinking water supplies, the right drying system and effective waste management in the city of Kaup Kota.
