Coimbatore: A total of 800 BJP cadres, including 200 women, held a demonstration near the Temple of Thandu Mariamman at Avinashi Road there on Thursday, condemning the state government because it did not open the temple between Friday and Sunday.
Kwombatore MLA South Vanathi Srinivasan led the demonstration.
BJP cadres from opposite Coimbatore, Nilgiris and Tirupur District gathered near the temple.
Some women carry fire pots.
They caused slogans against the state government and urged the government not to cover the temple between Friday and Sunday as part of the Covid-19.BJP limit of the Secretary General of GK Selvakumar, SR Sekhar’s State President and City Police were also present.
