Lucknow: The Bharatiya Janata party is likely to release the first list of candidates for the election on January 15.
High-level meeting party leaders on Thursday at Delhi disinfinalized discussions in 172 seats.
These chairs are mostly from the first three phases of polls, said sources to TOI.
According to sources, as reported by TOI on Thursday, Adityanath is likely to be reduced from Ayodhya and Maurya from the Sirathu constituency.
Maurya has won from SiraThu in 2012.
Sharma can do a contest from one of the assembly constituencies in Lucknow.
The source said that the final stamp on the decision taken in principle will be taken by the top BJP leadership including PM.
Overcoming the media at the BJP headquarters after the meeting, Maurya said the party held a broader meeting in the assembly chair 172 and would register a greater victory than the 2017 assembly poll.
The meeting was virtually attended by JP Nadda and Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari because They have contracted Coronavirus.
Foreign Minister Amit Shah and several other leaders besides from Uttar Pradesh, including Yogi attended physically at the meeting.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also present virtually at the meeting, said the source.
This party believes that the upper state leaders who fight will send positive signals among party workers.
In addition, the nomination of Yogi from Ayodhya will only add to the BJP Hindutva agenda that the party has maintained the core in the election of this assembly.
As for Sharma’s seat, the source said that it was still not confirmed where he would contest but the party at the party said he could compete from Lucknow North, Lucknow East or Bakshi Ka Talab.
The party has also decided to repeat the minister like Suresh Rana from Thana Bhawan.
However, the final decision about the nomination of Bhupendra Chaudhary has not been taken, the sources are confirmed.
The source says that there is a chance that the list of candidates can be released on Friday, however, believes that if the list is not released on Friday, it will be released on January 15.
