New Delhi: BJP on Tuesday demanded Twitter to lock the leader of Congress Rahul Gandhi again to “lie” to the micro-blogging site for the problem revealing the identity of a nine-year-old Delhi girl who was raped and was killed earlier this month.
However, Congress said the ruling party was running a campaign to defame the reputation of their party leaders.
Speaking with MediaPersons, BJP spokesman Sambit Patra quoted media reports and said the congress claimed that the victim’s family had given their agreement to Rahul Gandhi to publish his photo.
Trusted that Twitter, who had locked the handle of Rahul Gandhi on August 7, opened it on August 14 after the Congress claimed that the victim’s mother had given her approval to publish family photos taken when the leader of the Congress had visited them on August 4.
In a tweet on August 14 from the handle @inc_television, Congress said, “The victim’s mother has supported Rahul Gandhi.

“It’s a lie.
The victim’s family clearly stated that they had never given approval to Rahul Gandhi to publish their photos,” he said.
“Rahul Gandhi has lost credibility and is a liar habit.
The public has locked a political account (Congress), now Twitter must also lock his account,” said spokesman for the Sambit Party Patra.
Patra demands that Twitter Handle Rahul Gandhi must be locked again after development.
But Congress declared shocked at BJP claims.
A carrier of the senior Congress office told Tii that the party did not give anything in writing to Twitter because the handle Rahul Gandhi was not locked.
“We have not given anything in writing.
We also did not claim that the victim’s family gave their agreement in writing,” he said.
The Congress leader revealed that the victim’s mother was seen telling the private channel last week that he did not object to Rahul Gandhi publishing their photos on social media.
“We tweet just said that he had stood up to support Rahul Gandhi and didn’t mind getting a picture of a tweet,” he said.
Meanwhile, BJP President JP Nadda said such problems should not be politicized for small political purposes.
Several States ministers also joined BJP in slamming Rahul Gandhi.
Women and Minister of Welfare of the Child Smriti Irani, who handled a shameful defeat to Rahul Gandhi in the last traditional Amethi seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha election, hit his opponent.
