BJP Fields candidates in 43% of seats in urban polls

Chennai: Just go, the BJP Tamil Nadu unit has deployed 5,480 candidates in almost 43% from 12,838 seats in 649 urban local agencies (ULB) which will conduct polls in the state on February 19.
Walking out of the Aiadmk Alliance, BJP State President, K Annamalai said his party would compete in all seats, but in the following days, the party took a pragmatic view and candidate in the chair where he had an influence.
“We only have two days to prepare a list of candidates for polls.
If we believe you will go a little earlier, we will make an effort to cover more candidates about the Lotus symbol,” said a senior party leader.
The lack of poll preparedness shows in submission of nominees too.
Some Nominations of BJP candidates are rejected by reason of administrative and non-availability of supporting documents, which will be delivered along with nominated paper.
“Our party has grown in recent years and the purpose of this election is to prove our strength.
We will not lose.
Our performance in Chennai, Coimbatore, Trichy and other companies will be a surprise for many people (Read Dravidian majors),” said Secretary General of Karu Nagarajan.
He said the BJP candidate will perform well in Mylapore, T Nagar, Adyar and Thiruvanmiyur and open an account at Greater Chennai Corporation.
BJP has focused on the local body in Kanyakumari, Vilavancode, Colachel, Tirunelveli, Sivakasi, Salem, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Chengalpattu and Kancheepuram.
“We are sure to increase the selection of shares exceeding 3%,” another senior leader said.
In the 2011 local agency poll, fighting alone under the leadership of the former Union State Minister for PON Radhakrishnan, BJP won three chairman of the city chairman.
It has 28 members of the corporate board and 247 villages of Ward Panchayat members too.
In the current poll, the BJP candidate was burdened by facing DMK’s charges that BJP was an anti-student party because of his pro-neet stand.
Anti-Neet Bill attracts attention at the wrong time for BJP.
The Leadership of the State BJP has not been able to effectively defend Neet, while the DMK and its allies seem to be successful in projecting Neet as a source of all problems that disrupt the education system in the state.
