New Delhi: Opposition Leader in the Delhi Assembly Ramvir Singh Bidhuri on Thursday said the Ruling AAP Government has not formed the fifth financial commission for the period from April 2021 to March 2026 which should be carried out in 2020.
Bidhuri has been carried out to keep companies ruled by BJP in financial trouble.
The Financial Commission decided on the proportion of taxes to be given by the Delhi government to the city of the city.
Bidhuri also wrote a letter to Minister of Home Union Amit Shah to take several alternative steps to bring the city corporation Delhi out of the financial crisis.
In a statement, Bidhuri said that according to Article 243 (i) the constitution, it was the constitutional responsibility of the Delhi government to form the State Financial Commission every five years.
“The Delhi government does not let go of its constitutional responsibility because city companies do not get their share share of state taxes,” Bidhuri said.
In his letter, Bidhuri said that the city corporation experienced a serious financial crisis and found it difficult to do their job.
He suggested that the center must take alternative steps so that the central government can directly provide financial assistance to the company.
“The central government must issue directives to Lieutenant Governor to take immediate steps for the formation of the fifth financial commission in Delhi,” Bidhuri said.
