Kolkata: National Vice President BJP Dilip Ghosh on Tuesday signed a fight with the police while campaigning for party candidates in the election of the Municipal Asansol Company after a meeting was generally stopped there for allegedly spreading Covid safety norms.
While the police claimed that Ghosh campaigned with a large number of people and stopped him from Canvassing, the former BJP President of the State denied the allegations and confirmed that only five party members were with him.
“West Bengal Police personnel worked under the Trinamool Congress instructions.
People want to meet me, interact with me.
If they want to talk to me when I drink morning tea, can they add to the list of campaigners? But they can’t prevent us from this way .
We will campaign in the Ambit Sec guide, “he said.
He was seen experiencing a fight with police officials.
Instead of protest against police actions, he sat in Dharna for some time in place in Ward no.
66 of Enasol Municipal Corporation in Paschim Bardhaman Regency.
Ghosh accused in Ward 66, the local Trinamool Congress candidate came to the side of his car and began to cause various charges against the BJP Council to sit who was looking for re-election.
“I told him to tell whatever voters he had, why am I? This is an act of intimidation,” Ghosh said.
He alleged that he was prevented from the campaign also in the AMC ward where the selection was scheduled to be held on January 22.
Reacting to his accusation, TMC MP Sougata Roy told PTI: “Dilip Ghosh looks campaigning with a large number of people exceeding the limit of five and administration has done his job.”
