Kolkata: The local BJP leader was arrested on Friday for allegedly persecuting the wife of the local TMC leader in the Kolkata Muchipara area, police said.
According to the woman’s complaint, she was persecuted by a group of people including BJP leaders when she left her house to buy medicines on Thursday night, a police officer said.
Based on fir, the police opened the door of the BJP leader’s house and arrested him on Friday afternoon, he said.
BJP leader was also accused of searching local clubs after allegedly persecuting the woman, the officer added.
